To build two manual Robots (wired or wireless) and a Programmable Robot that can assemble a car in the Assembly unit.
As you must be aware that all the car manufacturing companies are adopting automation in their assembly lines. It will be paramount that the assembly lines are automated in the Tomorrowland. Your team is tasked to create three robots that can achieve the same:
ALPHA is a programmable robot which will follow the spare part line track. It has a sophisticated Pick/Drop/Push/Drag mechanism so that it can carry the parts of car from store to a partdrop location near the Assembly Line.
Delta has a sophisticated Pick/Drop/Grab mechanism so that it can carry the process of making of cars on the assembly line.
Scara has a sophisticated Pick/Drop/Grab mechanism so that it can carry the process of making of cars on the assembly line.
Tasks for SCARA and DELTA:Making of car on Assembly Line: SCARA and DELTA are the manual robots that will first pick/drag/push/grip the chassis from its place holder location to the Engine assembly unit then to Transmission assembly and then to Body assembly area and finally for the wheel assembly i.e at finish point. Any of the robot can pick from parts drop area to spare part area. Note:Any of the robot can pick the parts from the drop area but first needs to be dropped in (touchdown) at spare part area, before putting it on chassis.
Tasks for ALPHA: Picking up the spares from store: ALPHA is an automated spare part line follower robot that collects the spare parts from the store and coordinates with DELTA or SCARA for pick up. Sequence of the parts that needs to be taken from store depends on the students. The parts kept at the store would be four wheels and two body parts. Note: you can refer to the props area for the images of these parts.
|Successfully able to displace(completely out of mark area) any of the six spares from Store area (10 points for each) NOTE: One part can be taken in one round and score will be awarded once.||+60|
|Successfully able to drop the spares to the parts drop area outside of the assembly unit (20 points for each)||+120|
|Scara & Delta’s Tasks:|
|Successfully able to pick any of the spare parts (Wheel or Car Body) 20 points for each part from the parts drop Area (outside the assembly line) and drop them one within the spare parts drop location next to the Body Assembly Unit. part (Note: Point would be awarded if and only if the spares are dropped into the spare parts drop location).||+20 (for each part)|
|Successfully able to drag the Chassis completely out from placeholder location for the engine assembly unit.||+50|
|Successfully able to put the engine of the car into the chassis (Note: you can put the engine only if the chassis is completely inside the engine assembly unit - points would not be awarded if the chassis is even partially out from the engine assembly unit).||+60|
|Successfully able to drag the chassis from engine assembly unit to Transmission assembly unit (Note: These points would be awarded only if the engine is on the chassis and the chassis is completely inside the transmission unit).||+50|
|Successfully able to assemble the two Transmission pieces into the car chassis (50 for each piece) (Note:Both the Yellow pieces should be placed together)||+100|
|Successfully able to drag the Chassis from Transmission assembly unit to Body assembly unit (Note: These points would be awarded only if the engine and transmission pieces are on the chassis and the chassis is completely inside the Body Assembly unit).||+50|
|Successfully able to assemble the Body of the car (50 for each piece) (Note: Car Body parts have to be picked from the spare parts drop location only)||+100|
|Successfully able to drag the Car from Body assembly unit to wheel assembly unit (Note: These points would be awarded only if the car body is fully on the chassis and the chassis is completely inside the Wheel Assembly unit).||+50|
|Successfully able to fix all four wheels of the car. (60 points for each wheel) (Note: Wheels have to be picked from the spare parts drop location only)||+240|
Note: SCARA and DELTA, do not necessarily need to follow the assembly line track they can move around it as well for completion of tasks but they need to follow the sequence of assembly line and the chassis should be inside the assembly box boundary. Whereas ALPHA is a programmable robot that will follow the Spare part line track only. Alpha can only deviate from its path upto 4 times in total 6 minutes of time frame after that it's run will be stopped.
